The Pan Am 103 Bombing Over Lockerbie at 19:03 on 21 December 1988 That Killed All 259 Aboard and Eleven on the Ground Pan American Flight 103, a Boeing 747 from London Heathrow to New York JFK, exploded at 19:03 GMT on 21 December 1988 at 31,000 feet over the Scottish town of Lockerbie. All 259 passengers and crew aboard were killed. Falling wreckage killed eleven Lockerbie residents on the ground. The investigation attributed the bombing to two Libyan intelligence officers.
