The Teenage Diarist Hidden in an Amsterdam Attic for 25 Months Who Was Betrayed on 4 August 1944 and Died of Typhus at Bergen-Belsen Anne Frank and her family hid in a concealed annex behind her father's Amsterdam office from 6 July 1942. They were arrested on 4 August 1944 after an anonymous denunciation. Anne died of typhus at Bergen-Belsen in February or March 1945, aged 15, weeks before the camp's April 1945 liberation. Her diary, published by her father in 1947, has been translated into more than 70 languages.
